When You Feel Like You’re Not Enough
Bible Verse:
_"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'" _
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
Devotional Thought:
There’s that voice again.
"You’re not doing enough."
"You’re not a good enough mom."
"Not a good enough wife, friend, employee, woman of God."
Just... not enough.
Some days, it’s not even the world telling you this — it’s your own inner critic. You compare yourself to others who seem more productive, more spiritual, more joyful. You carry invisible expectations and constantly feel like you’re falling short.
But here’s the truth your heart needs:
You were never meant to be “enough” on your own.
God never asked you to be perfect. He asked you to abide in Him. To lean on Him. To let His strength fill the gaps where your own ends. His grace isn’t a bonus for when you’re doing well — it’s the very thing that holds you up when you’re at your worst.
So the next time that voice whispers,
“You’re not enough,”
you can gently whisper back,
“I don’t have to be — because He is.”
Honest Prayer:
Lord,
Some days I feel like I’m failing at everything. I see all the things I’m not — and forget who You say I am. Remind me that I don’t have to earn Your love or prove my worth. Help me to rest in Your grace — not my performance. Thank You for loving me exactly as I am, and for filling in every place where I fall short.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.
